Food and Civil Supplies Minister G R Anil has announced that all ration card holders in the state will receive rice at  ₹25 per kilogram for Onam. He added that the government had managed to stabilise coconut oil prices and that the rate of subsidised coconut oil would be reduced further. Subsidised coconut oil will also be made available at the Onam market starting on August 25.

The Minister said yellow card holders would receive the Onam kit from August 26. In addition, selected products will be sold at half price through Supplyco. Subsidised provisions for September can be purchased in advance, starting from this month.

Meanwhile, the Minister assured strict action against the sale of adulterated coconut oil in the market. Complaints have been handed over to the Food Safety Department.
