The State Public Distribution Department has invited applications after including most ration shops in the reservation category.
As the State declared a holiday for Eid-ul-Fitr on Tuesday, the ration shops remained closed for an additional day.
Minister for Food and Civil Supplies G R Anil will chair a final review meeting in this regard this week.
The application for the card can be uploaded through Akshaya Centre/Citizen login.
The new timings for ration shops will be effective up to January 25.
White-card holders will be provided 10 kilograms of rice this month.
Students belonging to BPL households will be able to travel free-of-cost if the recommendation gets the cabinet nod.
The ration card holders are also enabled to revise the card through the online system named, 'Ration Card Management System'.
To convert the ration card into this format, an application must be submitted through either Akshaya centres or the citizen login.
