Mala: Thickets have grown on the sides of Annamanada – Mala road blocking the view of the drivers. Roadsides between Valiaparambu and Jew Cemetery have become a mini forest with thickly grown bushes and wild bushes.
Earlier, the panchayat used to clear the area by removing the thickets. However, the local residents say that it didn’t happen this year. Bushes and vines have grown into the Valiaparambu – Vattakota road as well as onto the direction sign board, hiding it from sight.
Even the electric posts on the road side are covered in vines and thickets. People complain that the waste channel between Kottavathil Junction and the government hospital isn’t visible as bushes have overgrown.
Passengers say that vehicles might get stuck in the channel as it is not visible from the road. Meanwhile, wild thickets and bushes are causing trouble for the pedestrians between Carmel College and police station area.
People of the locality say that venomous creates and reptiles are often spotted in these areas.
