Woman accuses Kerala BJP Vice President C Krishnakumar of sexual assault

The BJP, which has trained its guns on Palakkad MLA Rahul Mamkootathil, who faces allegations of sexual misconduct, was pushed to the back foot on Wednesday, after a complaint of alleged sexual assault surfaced against BJP Kerala Vice President C Krishnakumar.
Former BJP leader and KPCC spokesperson Sandeep G Varier posted a suggestive message on his social media on Tuesday, asking if the BJP would emulate the Congress and take action against a core committee member.
Krishnakumar, a prominent face of the BJP in Palakkad for the last few decades, has been at the forefront of the agitations against Rahul. In her complaint to the BJP Kerala president Rajeev Chandrasekhar, the woman said she was subjected to sexual assault by Krishnakumar a few years ago. She said she had approached Gopalankutty Master at the RSS state office in Elamakkara, and also submitted her grievance to V Muraleedharan, MT Ramesh, and Subhash (then Organisation General Secretary).
According to the complainant, all the leaders assured her that justice would be delivered and strict action would be taken against Krishnakumar. Still, no action was ever initiated, and her complaint was ignored.
The woman said in her complaint that she felt humiliated and abandoned. The woman refers explicitly to allegations against Rahul in her complaint and states that Krishnakumar lacked the moral right to lead protests against Rahul. She demanded that he be expelled from the party.
Krishnakumar was quick to refute the allegations, stating that the complaint was baseless. "This case, in fact, emerged out of her dissent over the partition of assets. The court settled it. I know who is behind all these allegations. If anyone thinks that I can be spooked with these fake complaints, they are mistaken," Krishankumar said, hinting at Sandeep Warier.
Both of them had serious disagreements, which eventually led Varier to leave the BJP and join the Congress. He said that the senior leaders had brushed aside this complaint after realising that it was fake.
