Kannur's Kottayam panchayat a development model, team from Alappuzha conducts study visit

Koothuparamba: A 25-member team from Punnapra South Panchayat in Alappuzha visited the Kottayam Panchayat here to study the development models implemented there, which are widely regarded as model initiatives in the district.
The delegation included the president, vice president and 13 ward members of the Punnapra Panchayat, along with several social workers. The team toured various parts of the panchayat, including anganwadis, schools, family health centres, the Kottayam temple and its pond and other cultural institutions.
They also examined the panchayat’s model initiatives in cleanliness and waste management, water conservation, small-scale industries and farm sector activities.
Led by Punnapra Panchayat president P G Cyrus and vice president Sudharma, the team was formally welcomed by Kottayam Panchayat president C Rajeevan, vice president M Dharmaja, secretary P P Sajitha, assistant secretary Riji Raj, and other executive officials.
During a meeting held at the panchayat hall, elected representatives from both sides introduced themselves and shared insights on the various development models.
