Kulukallur: Muhammad Muhsin MLA happily posed as the ‘shy’ bride for the oppana performed by the students with disabilities, Kudumbasree workers and ASHA workers. The palliative family gathering was conducted as part of the grand Onam celebrations, by the Kulukkallur panchayat and primary health centre for the palliative patients, mentally disabled people, their relatives and caretakers. Meanwhile, the MLA agreed to become the bride for the oppana performed by the students of BUDS school and Kudumbasree workers. The palliative patients forgot their pain and clapped to the rhythm of oppana, encouraging their friends and family.

The palliative family gathering held at Mulayankavu Goldstar wedding hall was an amazing opportunity for palliative patients to meet and greet other patients in the panchayat and their relatives. The students of the BUDS school too joined them in the Onam celebration. The gathering, inaugurated by Muhammad Muhsin MLA, was presided over by panchayat president V Remani.

Panchayat vice president K Isahak, Pattambi block panchayat members MK Muhammad, K Basheer, panchayat permanent samiti heads Rajani, K Khadeeja, K Sreekumar, panchayat members, panchayat employees, health workers, Kudumbasree workers, ASHA workers, MGNREG workers, Haritha Karma Sena members and other social workers took part in the event. Cultural programs performed by the students of BUDS school and palliative patients were the highlights of the event. The program ended with a sumptuous Onasadya.
