Palakkad: A woman tragically lost her life in a hit-and-run accident at Pudussery in Palakkad on Monday. The deceased has been identified as Ancy, a teacher at a private college in Coimbatore.

The woman was found lying along the road between the Pudussery panchayat office and the railway station, the Walayar police said. Her hand had been severed in the accident. She was rushed to Palakkad General Hospital, but succumbed to her injuries.

Ancy was reportedly on her way to attend Onam celebrations at her college when the incident occurred. The Walayar Police said that they have launched an investigation and are yet to locate the vehicle.
