Palakkad: The college teacher who died in a road accident on Monday was not hit by another vehicle, police have confirmed. Dr NA Ancy (36) met with the accident while heading to her college to participate in the Onam celebrations.

Although rumours circulated that an unknown vehicle had chased her scooter, police found no CCTV footage to support this claim. Preliminary investigations by Walayar police indicate that the teacher died after her scooter lost control and collided with a divider and iron safety bars installed along the road.

Walayar Inspector NS Rajeev told Manorama News that the probe is ongoing, and CCTV footage from all roads connecting the teacher’s house and college will be examined.

Ancy, an assistant professor at a private college in Coimbatore, met with the accident near the junction close to Kanjikode railway station around 10.25 am on Monday.
