Kozhikode Government Medical College Hospital confirmed another case of amoebic meningoencephalitis on Saturday, raising the total reported cases to 11.  The recently diagnosed patient is a woman from Malappuram district. Another patient admitted here remains in critical condition.

Among the infected are three minors receiving treatment at the Institute of Maternal and Child Health (IMCH), with another child under observation. Two of the minors are recovering well and are expected to be discharged within two days. The most recent death from amoebic meningoencephalitis was that of Ratheesh (45), a native of Sulthan Bathery.
