Thiruvananthapuram: A 35-year-old man was stabbed to death by his father at Ulloorkonam, Ayiroorppara, Thiruvananthapuram, on Sunday.

The deceased, Ullas, was found lying in a pool of blood inside his house around 8 am. Pothancode Police said he had suffered a stab wound near the shoulder. His father, Unnikrishnan Nair (59), was arrested later in the day.

“We were alerted by relatives around 8.30 am and rushed to the spot. Ullas was found unconscious inside the house. It has been learned that father and son often clashed, mostly under the influence of alcohol,” said an officer from the Pothancode station.

The body was shifted to the Government Medical College Hospital, Thiruvananthapuram, after the inquest. Autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
