Kalpetta: Two men lost their lives in separate road accidents in Wayanad on Monday. At around 11 am, Nurudheen (44), son of Areekkodan Beeran Kutti and a native of Ripon near Meppadi, died after his scooter collided with a Bolero jeep near Anchukunnu, Panamaram.

His wife, Faseela, suffered minor injuries and rushed to the Government Medical College Hospital, Mananthavady. Nurudheen was travelling towards Kalpetta, while the jeep was heading to Kakkatt near Kuttiadi.

In another incident around 8 am, Madakkal Hashim (32), son of Madakkal Ismayil, died when his motorcycle collided with a KSRTC bus at Mundakkolli near Pazhoor on the Sulthan Bathery–Noolppuzha–Gudalur highway. The bus was bound for Coimbatore, while Hashim was on his way to Sulthan Bathery, where he worked in a private firm.
