Forest officer booked for sexual abuse of colleague during night duty in Wayanad

Kalpetta: Police have registered a case against Ratheeshkumar (36), a Section Forest Officer under the South Wayanad Forest Division, for allegedly sexually assaulting a female colleague during night duty last week.
The Padinjarathara police acted on the woman’s complaint and recorded her statement. Following a preliminary inquiry by the department’s Internal Complaints Committee, the officer was transferred.
“We conducted a preliminary inquiry and submitted a report to the Chief Conservator of Forest, Northern Circle, recommending appropriate measures,” South Wayanad DFO Ajith K Raman told Onmanorama.
