Migrant worker hacked to death in Kozhikode

Kozhikode: A 23-year-old migrant worker was found hacked to death in Mukkom here on Saturday evening. The deceased has been identified as Arif Ali, a West Bengal native.
Arif, who worked as a daily wage labourer, was staying with his brother in a rented room near the post office on Thrikkudamanna Temple Road. According to police, his brother had left for Wayanad on Friday morning, and upon returning the next day, found the door locked from the inside. Despite repeated attempts, Arif did not respond.
With the help of his friends, he broke open the door and found Arif lying in a pool of blood. A knife was recovered from the room. The Mukkom police have launched an investigation into the incident and are treating it as a suspected case of murder.
