Police launch investigation on 14-year-old boy missing from Omassery in Kozhikode

Omassery: A 14-year-old boy has gone missing under suspicious circumstances, around eight days ago on the Thiruvonam day. Vijith Vineeth, son of Kizhakkekara Puthenpurakkal Vineeth and Sajitha who reside at Chundakkunnu Unnathi in ward three of Omassery panchayat didn’t return home after he went out to play.
Vijith, a class eight student at Koodathayi St. Mary’s High School, was spotted at various places by eyewitnesses on the same day. They say that Vijith had watched a movie at Thamarassery and had visited a studio in Eengapuzha.
Meanwhile, the police have acquired visuals of Vijith reaching Omassery via Venappara at night on foot.
The police are investigating the case based on CCTV visuals and are trying to find Vijith. A group led by panchayat president K Karunakaran, permanent samiti presidents Yunus Ambalakandi, P K Gangadharan and members M M Radhamani and K Anandakrishnan visited the boy’s house. DySP K Susheer said that a special team has been formed to find the boy.
