27 injured as KSRTC bus rams into under-construction NH underpass in Cherthala

Alappuzha: Twenty-seven people were injured after a KSRTC Swift bus crashed into the iron railing of an under-construction underpass of the National Highway in Cherthala early on Tuesday. All the injured were passengers on the bus.
The incident occurred around 5 am. According to an officer at the Cherthala Police Station, the bus, travelling to Thiruvananthapuram from Coimbatore, lost control and rammed into the railing.
Local residents and police launched an immediate rescue operation. All the injured were shifted to Cherthala Taluk Hospital. Police confirmed that none of the injuries were serious.
