Thiruvananthapuram: A KSRTC bus and a lorry collided at Maruthoor bridge in Vattappara on Wednesday. Around 16 people were reportedly injured in the accident, with some of them in critical condition. It took nearly half an hour to rescue the trapped lorry driver and the KSRTC driver.

The bus was operating on the Thiruvananthapuram–Pathanamthitta route. The accident occurred early on Wednesday. The injured have been admitted to the Medical College Hospital and a private hospital. Traffic congestion is likely on the MC Road following the mishap.
