Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of heavy rainfall at isolated places in Kerala until Saturday. A yellow alert has been issued for several districts over the next three days.

Yellow alert districts

  • September 25: Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki
  • September 26: Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur
  • September 27: Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur

The state is expected to witness heavy rainfall  (7–11 cm in 24 hours) at one or two places in Kerala till September 27. Strong surface winds with speeds of 30–40 km/h may occasionally prevail at one or two places over Kerala and Lakshadweep during September 25–27.
