Thiruvananthapuram: Two school students were killed and another seriously injured after a car rammed into a scooter in Vizhinjam here on Sunday. The deceased have been identified as Jason (17), a resident of Kottappuram, Vizhinjam, and Shanu (16), a native of Puthiyathura, both students of St Mary’s School, Kottappuram.

Their friend Stefanie, who sustained serious injuries, is admitted to the Medical College Hospital in Thiruvananthapuram.

The accident occurred while the friends were returning after having lunch at Jason’s house. At Mullur, a car which lost control rammed into the scooter.

The vehicle was driven by Shabu, a resident of Pozhiyoor. The police have taken Shabu into custody.
