Kozhikode: Police arrested a private bus driver after ganja was found in his possession during a surprise inspection inside the vehicle.

The accused, identified as Shamil Lal, was the driver of Chaithram, a private bus operating on the Kozhikode–Tiruvambadi route. Officers seized 2 grams of ganja from him during the inspection.

The bus was intercepted at Kunnamangalam following a tip-off from a woman passenger who had alighted at Karanthoor. As soon as she got off, the woman contacted the police over the phone and complained that Shamil was driving under the influence of ganja.
