Malappuram: A six-year-old boy was killed after a two-wheeler hit his bicycle at Narukara Memad in Manjeri on Friday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Muhammed Isiyan, son of Yousuf Ilayodan. The accident happened around 5 pm when the boy was riding his bicycle near his house.

According to police, the two-wheeler was ridden by Ashiq Muttengadan, a local resident. The child suffered severe injuries in the collision and was rushed to a private hospital in Manjeri before being shifted to the Government Medical College Hospital there. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries around 6 pm.

Manjeri Police have registered a case and launched an investigation. The body has been kept at the Manjeri Medical College Hospital mortuary for an autopsy.
