Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Government Medical College Teachers Association (KGMCTA) said their ongoing strike over unresolved grievances will continue, with a state-wide dharna staged on Monday from 1 pm to 2 pm.

The association said authorities have repeatedly been alerted to the basic problems of medical college teachers, including salary revision, rectification of anomalies in entry-level pay, correction of other discrepancies, and creation of adequate posts to ensure timely appointments and promotions.

The non-cooperation strike, which began on September 26, is still ongoing. KGMCTA leaders warned that if their demands are not addressed, they may take more stringent measures, including halting classes and boycotting outpatient services.

State president Dr Roshanara Begum T and general secretary Dr Aravind C S said the association is forced to escalate the protest after repeated assurances from authorities went unfulfilled.
