Kothamangalam: A 60-year-old man spent an entire night trapped inside a well at Cheenikkuzhy near Kottapadi before being rescued by Fire and Rescue personnel the following morning.
Parathuvayalil Eldhose reportedly fell into the well near his home around 8 PM on Tuesday. With no one nearby at the time, the incident went unnoticed through the night. Around 7:30 AM on Wednesday, local residents heard cries for help from the well and immediately alerted the Fire and Rescue Department.

Eldhose was found clinging to a motor pump inside the well, which is approximately 25 feet deep and 10 metres wide. Fire and Rescue personnel descended into the well and used a rope-net to bring him safely to the surface. He was then rushed to the Taluk Hospital for treatment.

The rescue operation was led by Assistant Station Officer Satheesh Jose. According to the team, Eldhose said he had experienced sudden dizziness while sitting on the edge of the well, which led to his fall.
