Kuravilangad: As many as 30 lottery tickets were snatched from a woman vendor, a native of Bihar, at the Kuravilangad bus stand on Wednesday. The police have launched a search to trace the youth who fled with the tickets, but no arrests have been made so far.

Asmin (24) from Bihar has been selling lottery tickets in the panchayat bus stand area and along the MC Road, often accompanied by her four-year-old son. According to witnesses, the incident occurred when a youth approached her under the pretext of buying tickets. Pretending to verify the ticket numbers, he took all the tickets from her and handed back payment for only two.

However, when Asmin later counted her tickets, she found that 30 were missing. She had purchased a total of 120 tickets, each priced at ₹50, from a lottery wholesale agency.

Devastated by the theft, Asmin broke down in tears, prompting locals to rush to her aid. The Kuravilangad police arrived soon after receiving the alert and began an investigation, but the culprit could not be traced.
Asmin had arrived in Kerala only about a month ago in search of a livelihood.
