A shop owner in Chirayinkeezhu recently honoured a young man who stole a food packet worth Rs. 500 with a quirky ‘Meesa Madhavan’ award. The unusual gesture came after Aneesh, owner of Adithya Bakery and Fast Food in Kadakkavoor, tracked down the thief to his home.
The award plaque even featured CCTV footage of the incident. The theft occurred around 8 pm on Wednesday, when a young man arrived on a motorcycle, entered the eatery, ate some food, grabbed a food packet, and fled.
Suspicious onlookers alerted Aneesh and his wife, who reviewed the CCTV footage and confirmed the theft. Using social media, Aneesh managed to locate the young man.
Instead of filing a police complaint, Aneesh and his team decided to surprise the youth with a unique reward. They visited his home and presented him with the ‘Meesa Madhavan’ award, leaving him stunned. Before leaving, Aneesh explained that the award was being given for his “excellence in theft.”
