Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Monday said he had no knowledge of any Enforcement Directorate (ED) summons reportedly issued to his son, Vivek Kiran. “I haven’t seen any such summons. My family has not received one either. My son has not informed me of anything like that,” he said, responding to media reports that stated the central agency had issued a summons to Vivek in 2023 directing him to appear for an interrogation related to a money laundering case.
Vijayan said neither he nor his family has ever been involved in corruption, and they stand firmly for clean and transparent politics. “Everyone knows my political life. I am proud of my children. They will never do anything that would tarnish my name or reputation,” he said.
The Chief Minister also noted that his son is not involved in politics. “He is focused only on his profession and family. None of my children have any habits or activities inconsistent with the values I uphold,” he added.
Reacting to CPM leader M A Baby’s recent remarks on the alleged ED summons, Vijayan said Baby might have made the comment without being fully aware of the facts.
On the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into the Sabarimala gold theft case, the Chief Minister said he welcomes the investigation. “Let the probe continue. It’s not appropriate for me to comment at this stage, as it could affect the inquiry. What matters is that the investigation proceeds properly — and it is progressing well. Let’s wait and see who ends up being held accountable,” he said.
