Edakkara: Green tax will be collected from the visitors in an attempt to put an end to the increasing waste menace in Nadukani mountain pass.

The matter was discussed at a district-level meeting of the intensive program aimed at reducing human-animal conflict.

The meeting suggested recommending the government to impose a green tax. Inspections would be made stricter at the check post to prevent the usage of plastic containers by passengers travelling through the mountain pass.

Plastic containers will also be seized by the authorities. Besides, a special squad will be appointed to prevent waste dumping in this area.
