Kozhikode: A 15-year-old boy is in critical condition after accidentally falling into a waterlogged concrete tank in Kozhikode on Monday evening. The boy, Mohammed Sinan, a native of Aluva, Ernakulam, is a student at the Buhari Group of Institutions, Cheruvadi.

The incident happened around 5 pm in the compound of an auditorium near his institute. The tank, dug into the ground, was filled with rainwater, and the surrounding area was also heavily waterlogged due to continuous rainfall. Sinan fell into the tank while playing, unaware of its presence.

Fire and Rescue personnel from the Mukkam station rescued him and provided first aid before rushing him to KMCT Hospital, Mukkam. Hospital authorities said they managed to restore his pulse after administering CPR. As no ICU beds were available, he was later shifted to Baby Memorial Hospital, Kozhikode, where he remains on ventilator support.
