Bird watching team from Kumarakom spots 48 species, terms event a success

Kumarakam: The Student Police Cadets (SPC) cadets at the Sree Kumaramangalam Higher Secondary School who were part of a bird watching event led by the Tropical Institute of Ecological Sciences, a notable ecological research institute, were thrilled as they were able to spot 48 unique species of birds.
The 50-member bird watching team at Pallikayal, Nalupanku and Vilakkumaram paddy fields was headed by nature education officer MN Sharath Babu, project officer Suhana and teachers PA Abhilash, PR Praseetha and PT Anandan.
The project aims to create a sustainable society based on science, ecology and tradition.
