Kozhikode: A man was stabbed during a clash, reportedly under the influence of alcohol, at Railway Link Road here in the wee hours of Sunday.

The police have launched a search for the suspect.

The injured, identified as Bajeesh (39), a native of Vattampoyil in Kozhikode, is undergoing surgery at the Government Medical College Hospital.

“He was stabbed in the stomach and is undergoing surgery. He appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and was not in a condition to speak,” said a police official at the Medical College Hospital casualty aid post.

“It was a clash under the influence of alcohol. We are yet to identify the accused,” said an officer from the Town Police Station.
