Thiruvananthapuram: An Armed Reserve officer was found hanging from a tree near his house at Mannaram, Parandode, on Wednesday. The deceased has been identified as Sreejith (29).

According to the FIR, Sreejith died by suicide due to sudden emotional distress. He was found hanging from an acacia tree inside a forested area near his house sometime between 5 pm and 8.30 pm. Relatives and residents brought him down and rushed him to a hospital in Aryanad, where he was declared dead around 9.40 pm.

Family members said Sreejith was preparing for his pre-wedding photoshoot earlier in the day. They added that he received a phone call around 6.30 pm, after which he was found dead. A case has been registered under Section 194 (unnatural death) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and inquest procedures are underway.
