Malappuram: A five-year-old boy was killed after being hit by his school bus near his home at Olukkur, Kondotty, on Friday afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as Emin Aisin (5), son of Noorudheen and Amjid Jabin of Moochikkundil, Kunnakkad, Kuruppath. He was an LKG student of ABC School, Kumbalaparambu, near Kondotty.

The accident happened around 3.30 pm when the school vehicle, after dropping him off, accidentally ran over him while reversing. Kondotty police have registered a case, and an investigation is underway.

The body has been shifted to Medical College Hospital in Manjeri for post-mortem. Burial will take place on Saturday at Puthiyakode Juma Masjid cemetery, Olukkur.
