A man on Monday attempted to kill himself and his four-year-old child by jumping under a moving bus at MC Road in Adoor, Pathanamthitta. The incident occurred around 9.30 am, when the man had gone to the general hospital with his wife.

According to Adoor Police, when the man was unable to get in contact with his wife while at the hospital, he panicked and ran towards a private bus. “No FIR has been registered. The man was taken to meet his wife and the issue has been resolved,” said the Adoor SHO.

CCTV visuals show him rushing onto a busy road and jumping in front of the vehicle. The bus driver braked in time, narrowly avoiding the two. Neither the man nor the child sustained any injuries. Onlookers rushed to the scene, but the man stood up with the child and tried to run away.
