Disrupted drinking water supply restored in western parts of Ottapalam town

Ottappalam: The water authority has finally restored the drinking water supply in the western parts of the town. The authorities said that the water supply would be restored in the bus stand area as well as in Varod soon. Malayala Manorama had reported how the sudden loss of drinking water supply in the town had adversely affected the commercial sector.
The water supply was restored in the western parts of the town including the Thennadi Bazar area by repairing the valve. Water supply could be restored in other areas including the bus stand region as and when the leakage in the pipes is fixed. The authorities say that water supply could be ensured in the Varod region as soon as the maintenance works are completed in the area where the pipes burst during the construction of a culvert.
The pipeline in Varod had burst during the construction of the culvert as part of Cherpulassery road redevelopment. The crisis got worse when the pipe that was repaired once got damaged again.
