Malappuram: A 24-year-old man was stabbed to death by his elder brother at Pallimukku in Pookkottur early on Tuesday. The victim, Ameer of Kollapparamba, was allegedly attacked by his brother Junaid, 26, who later surrendered at the Manjeri Police Station.

The incident took place around 4.30 am. Initial information indicates that a financial dispute triggered the attack. The brothers were living in the same house. Police said Junaid entered the room where Ameer was sleeping, woke him, and then attacked him with a sharp weapon, inflicting a fatal injury on his neck. Ameer died on the spot.

Their mother and sister were inside the house at the time. Following the assault, Junaid left on a two-wheeler and surrendered to the police. An inquest was conducted at the residence. Further investigation is in progress.
