Pathanamthitta: Complaints are mounting over the Kerala Road Fund Board's (KRFB) delay in reinstalling street lights along the Ring Road from Aban Junction to Muthoot Hospital.

The ongoing construction of the Aban overbridge, carried out under KRFB's supervision, required the removal of electricity lines to prevent obstruction to the work. The dismantling began in December last year, and the lines were later replaced with underground cables. Although the underground cabling was completed months ago, the street lights have yet to be restored.

Residents say night travel along the stretch remains difficult and unsafe, and the situation can be resolved immediately if the lights are reinstated. However, the KSEB is still awaiting KRFB's approval to proceed with the installation.

Minister Veena George had earlier assured that instructions would be issued to the KRFB, but no follow-up action has been taken so far.
