Kottakkal: Farisha Hussain, the versatile singer known for hits in films like Bestie, Theetta Rappai and Penalty, is making waves this election season as her campaign songs have become the soundtrack for campaigns of Kerala’s upcoming local self-government polls.

Her campaign songs for candidates from various political parties have quickly become hits. Initially, she sung for candidates contesting from Kozhikode Corporation.

Since then, she has sung for candidates from Thiruvananthapuram, Varkala, Wayanad Bathery, Palakkad, Shoranur, Manjery, Tirur, and Tirurangady municipalities and corporations, as well as the Kuttipuram division of the district panchayat and Badiyadukka panchayat in Kasargod.

Songs for candidates from Kannur and Thrissur will be released shortly. In addition to candidates from the UDF, LDF, and NDA, Farisha has also sung for independents and SDPI candidates.

Apart from singing, she also makes announcements for candidates. The campaign songs are arranged to the tunes of popular Malayalam, Hindi, and Tamil film songs. Recording is carried out in the studio owned by her husband, keyboard artist Hussain, in Kottakkal.

Farisha has been singing since her days in anganwadi and was an active participant in school youth festivals.

She has performed alongside popular singers such as Biju Narayanan, Rahana, Edappal Viswanath, and Sindhu Premkumar. She continues to remain active in Mappilapattu and various television channel shows.
