Kannur: The campaigning by LDF candidates and their supporters in three wards of the Ramanthali panchayat in Kannur has turned into a striking visual spectacle- all 32 members of the campaign team appear in uniform.
Every Monday, the candidates from the Kallettumkadavu, Ramanthali West and Kovvapuram wards hit the campaign trail in khadi attire, joined by their supporters dressed the same way. All of them are employees of the Ramanthali Service Cooperative Bank. The candidates are OK Sasi, S Sandhya and AVK Shylaja.
The employees of Ramanthali Cooperative Bank diligently follow the government’s directive to cooperative staff to wear khadi at the workplace once a week. They have chosen Monday for the purpose and, on that day, campaign for the candidates after bank hours still attired in khadi.
The special campaign style has attracted the attention of the voters in the panchayat.
