Chelakkara: Huge chunks of rocks bounced off from a quarry owned by Joseph Ittiyara at Uzhunnumparambu near Venganalloor Sreekrishna Estate landed in the front yard of a nearby house.

The local residents protested and complained to the quarry officials.

The quarry that was allowed by the panchayat just two weeks ago, with blessings from both the ruling side and the opposition, has now become a headache for the people.

Geetha Unnikrishnan was the only member who did not attend the meeting that gave the permission for opening the quarry.
