Kozhikode: Two people were killed, and two others sustained injuries after their motorcycles collided on Beach Road in the early hours of Wednesday. The accident occurred near a petrol pump in the South Beach area around 3 am.

The deceased are Marvan, son of Subair, a native of Kannur, and Jubaid from Kakkodi in Kozhikode.

The injured are Kozhikode Payyanakkal native Afreed Thiruthivalappu (19) and Fayiz Panakkadan (17) from Malappuram. Both have been admitted to the Government Medical College Hospital, Kozhikode.

“Among them, Afreed has sustained serious injuries. Both are in the red zone,” a spokesperson for the hospital’s casualty department said.

The mortal remains of Marvan have been shifted to the mortuary at the Medical College Hospital for post-mortem examination.
