Kudumbashree to open 4 takeaway food counters in Ernakulam

Ernakulam: Kudumbashree is set to launch four new takeaway food counters in Ernakulam district to serve quality breakfast and supper. The counters are expected to become operational in January.
Of the four counters, two will function within the limits of the Kochi Corporation, while one each will be opened in Thrikkakara and Thiruvaniyoor.
These Meet Point takeaway counters will operate on a parcel-only basis and are aimed at office-goers and residents without cooking facilities at home. Depending on demand, limited seating may be arranged for tea, coffee and light snacks. Cloud kitchens will be set up alongside the counters to facilitate food preparation.
In the first phase, Kudumbashree plans to open 50 takeaway counters across the state.
Along with ensuring quality, Kudumbashree also promises to provide tasty food at reasonable prices. Plans are also being explored to introduce doorstep delivery by partnering with online food delivery platforms.
As many as eight people have undergone training in the district under the project. Kudumbashree will provide Rs.75,000 for branding to each of these ventures. According to Kudumbashree District Mission Coordinator M Rejina, the ventures will also be eligible for loans under Kudumbashree schemes.
