Even as a criminal case hangs over his head for the viral parody Pottiye Kettiye, lyricist G P Kunhabdulla of Nadapuram has already turned the page and is now back at work on a new composition.

Kunhabdulla says he remains unfazed by the legal case in which he has been named the first accused and has already begun working on his next song, undeterred and without fear. In the wake of the viral success of Pottiye Kettiye, several other parody songs written by him ear;ier, set to the same tune, have also gained traction on social media. Among them, the most popular at present is a song sung by Kalabhavan Mani and Nadirsha, which takes a sarcastic swipe at the speed of ministers’ vehicles.

Meanwhile, Kunhabdulla has received wide political support. AICC general secretary K C Venugopal, Leader of the Opposition V D Satheesan, MLA Ramesh Chennithala, MP Shafi Parambil, and several other leaders have spoken to him over the phone, expressing solidarity and backing him in his legal battle.
