As Kerala marked Christmas, the Kerala State Beverages Corporation (KSBC) recorded liquor sales of ₹332.62 crore through its BEVCO outlets in the first four days of the festive season. The Christmas-New Year sales season began on December 22, and data released by the KSBC showed an 18.99 per cent increase in sales compared to the same period last year.

The highest single-day sale was recorded on December 24, with sales touching ₹114.45 crore. On that day, alcohol worth ₹78.90 lakh was sold at the Chalakudy outlet, followed by ₹68.73 lakh in Balaramapuram, ₹66.92 lakh in Kadavanthra, ₹65.07 lakh in Changanassery and ₹61.62 lakh in Manjapra. The lowest sales were recorded at the Mananthavady and Chirayinkeezh outlets, with sales of ₹46.50 lakh each.

On December 22, sales stood at ₹77.62 crore, followed by ₹81.34 crore on December 23 and ₹59.21 crore on December 25.
