Malappuram: A wide collective of history enthusiasts has come together to form a new organisation named ‘EPOCA’, which aims at uniting history researchers across Kerala.

The organisation seeks to bring under one umbrella history students, researchers, teachers and individuals from all walks of life who share an interest in heritage conservation. EPOCA aims to connect history with society through study, dialogue and heritage-based interventions.

The inaugural meeting of the organisaion was held at Kottakkunnu on Friday and was attended by history enthusiasts from various districts of Kerala. Principal Director Mohammed Safwan said the organisation is working towards becoming a statewide body with more than 1,000 members by 2026. Jerin Jayaraj, Abin Satheesh and U R Krishnajith have been appointed as Regional Directors.
