LDF’s V Priyadarshini from Kallambalam division elected as the Thiruvananthapuram panchayat president. District Collector Anu Kumari administered the oath of office at a ceremony held at the district panchayat hall.

Priyadarshini secured the post with 15 votes, while UDF candidate Agnes Rani polled 13 votes. B P Murali, elected from the Navayikkulam division as the LDF candidate, took charge as district panchayat vice-president. President V Priyadarshini administered the oath of office to him. Murali secured 15 votes, while UDF candidate Sajith Muttappalam received 13 votes.

Minister V Sivankutty, MLAs Kadakampally Surendran, V Joy, D K Murali and G Stephen, former district panchayat president D Suresh Kumar, and district panchayat members, among others, attended the ceremony.
