Umrah trip turns tragic: Four members of Malappuram family killed in Saudi Arabia road accident

Malappuram: A four-member family from Manjeri in Malappuram was killed in a road accident on Saturday in Madinah, Saudi Arabia. The deceased are Vellila natives Abdul Jaleel (52), his mother Maimunath Kakkengal (73), his wife Thasna Thodengal (40), and son Aadhil Jaleel (14).
Meanwhile, three others — Ayisha, Hadiya and Noorah, daughters of Jaleel — are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in Saudi Arabia. It is learnt that they are in critical condition.
The family met with the accident around 6 pm while returning to Jeddah after performing Umrah in Mecca. According to reports, their vehicle collided with a truck.
Jaleel was employed in Jeddah. It is learnt that his family members reached Saudi on tourist visa for performing Umrah.
