Kannur: The mysteries of quantum science are coming alive in Kannur with `The Quantum Cat,' an interactive exhibition being organised as part of the Quantum Science Century celebrations at the Krishna Menon Memorial Government Women’s College.

The exhibition is being organised under the leadership of Lukka, the science portal of the Kerala Sastra Sahitya Parishad, in connection with the golden jubilee celebrations of the College. The exhibition will be held from January 13 to 17, between 9 am and 7 pm.

Alongside interactive displays on quantum science, visitors can also explore a Gaza photo exhibition featuring photographs taken by Dr S S Santhosh Kumar, who served in the Gaza war zone, as well as an activity centre curated by Dinesh Kumar Thekkumbad.

Under the guidance of the college’s Campus Science Committee, steps are underway to transform the institution into a Quantum Campus.

A three dimensional installation of the Quantum Cat has been erected at the college entrance, accompanied by wall murals themed around quantum science. The murals were created by a team comprising Yadunath Peravoor, Amal Velam, A V Vinayak, Riya Muzhakunnu, N Shivani, Sindhu, M Aryanand, P P Aleena, N Arya, Lolitha, M Divakaran and Biju Naduvaloor, under the leadership of College Principal Dr K T Chandramohanan, Dr P H Shanavas and Dr M Sukumaran.

Arrangements have been made for nearly 7,000 visitors to view the exhibition over the five day period. While the exhibition is open to the general public, registrations are being carried out mainly through schools and colleges. Preparations are being coordinated jointly by the College Golden Jubilee Organising Committee, chaired by K V Suresh MLA, the Campus Science Council and the Kannur District Yuva Samithi.
