Six injured as jeep overturns during Kurisumala pilgrimage in Idukki

Idukki: Six people were injured after a jeep lost control and overturned while ascending Kurisumala near Chinnappara in Adimali on Friday.
The accident occurred in the morning during the pilgrimage of devotees to Chinnappara Kurisumala. The jeep, which was being used as an announcement vehicle accompanying the pilgrims, reportedly suffered a brake failure while climbing the steep stretch.
According to eyewitnesses, the vehicle rolled backwards before overturning on the road, causing panic among pilgrims.
The injured were rushed to a private hospital and the Adimali Taluk Hospital. Hospital authorities said that none of the injuries is serious.
Local residents and fellow pilgrims took part in the rescue efforts and helped shift the injured to hospitals.
