However, unlike Vagamon's characteristic chilly high-altitude climate, Kanakappalam offers a more moderate, pleasant atmosphere, making it highly accessible for casual day-trippers.

Adjacent to this natural pine grove, a government-constructed pond adds to the scenic charm of the location. Local residents point out that the town and its surrounding areas currently lack well-equipped recreational spaces. Developing the forest zone with family-oriented amenities, seating areas, and a children's park would not only address this gap but also generate sustainable livelihood opportunities for the local community.
