Thank you Rahul Gandhi for reminding us that it's World Theatre Day today soon after Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a special address to the nation!

Before Modi announced dramatically India had shot down a live satellite in space on Wednesday with an anti-satellite (A-SAT) missile, all were eager to know what surprise news the PM had to share with the citizens as TV channels all of a sudden notified that he will address the nation soon.

“I would be addressing the nation at around 11:45 AM – 12.00 noon with an important message. Do watch the address on television, radio or social media,” a tweet from the PM Modi’s official twitter handle stated. It was posted in both Hindi and English.

People expected the PM to announce something special as he had broke the news of demonetisation one late evening in November 2016.

"This is a big moment for India. Something that all of us should be proud of. We are not just capable to defend on land, water and air, but now also in space. I congratulate all scientists who have made this possible and made India a much stronger nation," PM Modi said in the televised address today noon.

Soon, taking a dig in the most sarcastic and hilarious manner, after Modi announced the success of Mission Shakti, Congress president Rahul Gandhi took to Twitter and reminded that how well we celebrated the day, while also lauding the scientists of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) who were behind the missile test.

He tweeted, “Well done DRDO, extremely proud of your work.

I would also like to wish the PM a very happy World Theatre Day.” (sic.)

And we can't help sit back and LOL at the tweet.

World Theatre Day, which is marked on March on 27, was initiated in 1961 by the International Theatre Institute.
