While the world was watching the rescue mission of the 12 boys and a coach trapped inside a cave in Thailand, SpaceX founder Elon Musk and his team was busy making a rescue pod for the kids.
After the rescue mission was successfully completed Tuesday, he tweeted that his 'mini-sub' was ready to use and would leave it in Thailand for future use.
“Mini-sub is ready if needed. It is made of rocket parts and named Wild Boar after (the rescued) kids’ soccer team. Leaving here in case it may be useful in the future. Thailand is so beautiful,” Musk tweeted.
Elon Musk had tweeted on Friday that engineers from his firms - SpaceX and The Boring Company - were heading to Thailand to see if they could assist the rescue.
The Thai government had said that Musk's team could help the rescue operation with location tracking, water pumping or battery power.
All those trapped have been rescued from a flooded cave in northern Thailand after being there for 18 days, bringing an end to the ordeal that prompted a huge international rescue effort.
The coach was one of the last to be extricated from the cave on Tuesday in the rescue operation that began as a local search for the missing, but turned into a complex mission, involving hundreds of experts who flew in from around the world to help, CNN reported.
